An enigmatic Premier League footballer has made a foray into the world of by launching a grime track, fueling fans' curiosity about the star's identity.

The athlete-turned-musician unveiled the song “Thrill” under the pseudonym Dide last Friday.

This intriguing release captivated audiences with a polished music video on YouTube, showcasing the performer donning a rose-embellished mask.

Identifying the footballer behind the mask

The anticipation for this track began in February when the player teased its release on Instagram.

Based on the evidence provided throughout the track, we think we can identify the man behind the mask: Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah.

“My team stay winning,” raps the MF Doom-like character.

“They're gonna (gunner) put it in the paper. Every game is like a final,” he continues, possibly an ode to the Gunners as they try to wrap up their first Premier League title in two decades.

The unidentified MC also points to the sky, just as Nketiah does after scoring.

In another music video, the footballer shouts out to another young star, Phil Foden. “Young star and I feel like Foden,” he rhymes. And then he alludes to the North London derby. “I need me a goal like the need Kane.”

The phrase “left school when I was 14” is also a telling clue, aligning with when he and some of the Arsenal starlets joined Hale End.

The anonymous footballer delivers authentic beats and rhymes, which unquestionably command respect for the music.

Said one fan: “if this is Eddie I couldnt be more proud being a arsenal fan my self . the true words in your bars are spot on and can't wait to here more music from you but would be great to see you on the stage.”

Perhaps we'll get the artist to reveal himself soon. “Ok if everyone wants to know who I really am. I will release my next music video with no mask if I get 50k YouTube subscribers,” teases Dide.

Eddie, is that you?
