Interim manager Jaime Lozano will lead El Tri to the Gold Cup with the same squad that lost 3-0 to the United States in the Concacaf Nations League semifinal. Most of the 22-man roster competes in Liga MX, while a few players participate in Europe's top five leagues.
Mexico's roster is strong, with veteran goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa representing El Tri in the tournament for the fifth time. Prior injuries prevented the selection of marquee players Hirving Lozano, Tecatito Corona, and Raul Jimenez.
A knee problem has also ruled out Chivas winger Alexis Vega. 2019 Gold Cup winner and Vega's club teammate Roberto Alvarado is his replacement.
