What’s next in the Neymar and Mbappe feud?

The rift between Kylian Mbappe and Neymar continues to widen. The two teammates remain at a standstill with no signs of rapprochement. The only saving grace is the field where the two appear in neutral regard.

According to French media outlet L'Equipe, Mbappe wants Neymar to depart the club. The Brazilian, who recently refused to comment on the relationship with his teammate, is ‘astonished' by Mbappe's unprecedented clout at the club.

Mbappe renewed his PSG contract last May until 2025, with the Parisian club giving him an eye-watering €100m signing bonus and a €50m salary to keep him from joining Real Madrid.

The relationship between Mbappe and Neymar took a turn for the worst when the two got into a scuffle over penalty-taking duties during a match earlier this season against Montpellier.

Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos apparently played mediators between the two after the match. PSG boss Christophe Galtier also held a brief meeting between the players where the two issued apologies and promised to focus on the team.

Neymar took to Twitter after the match to express his displeasure, engaging with posts criticizing Mbappe as the team's primary penalty taker.

The silence is deafening

After his national team's crushing defeat of Ghana during the international break, Neymar seemed to add salt to the wound. When asked about his relationship with Mbappe, the Brazilian forward ignored the question.

“My relationship with Mbappe? I don't…,” Neymar said before storming off the scene to join his Brazilian teammates.

How PSG plans to calm the battle of egos so that the team can focus on winning remains to be seen.

#1. Who is the second top-leading EPL scorer behind Erling Haaland?

Harry Kane is the correct answer. He's scored 26 goals, putting him ahead of Ivan Toney (20), Mo Salah (19), and Marcus Rashford (16). Haaland, of course, leads the league with 35 record-breaking strikes.
