# The date for this year’s first El Clásico has been confirmed

The first El Clásico of the La Liga season is to be played at Camp Nou on Saturday, October 26th, at 7 am ET, 1 pm CE.

The two heavyweights last clashed in late February when Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-0 in the Copa del Rey semis. Suarez doubled while Raphaël Varane scored an own goal.

The teams faced each other days later in a La Liga matchup where Ivan Rakitic scored the 1-0 winner at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Blaugrana currently lead Los Blancos in competitive matches with 96 wins to Madrid’s 95.

One of the biggest rivalry in sports, and certainly the most viewed, next month’s matchup will serve as a proper check-up on both sides.

Barcelona sit fourth place in the La Liga table with a game in hand. However, injuries continue to haunt Messi’s full-comeback while Zidane struggles in picking his best side.
