Spurs probing possibility of return of Christian Eriksen this summer

Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen has been linked with a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer. The Dane has been in good form for the Bees this season since making a remarkable return to the pitch after suffering a heart attack during last summer's Euros.

Brentford are 5-0 when Eriksen starts, proving once again that he can become a game-changer in the Premier League. He spent six seasons in North London, where he notched 51 goals and 67 assists in 226 EPL games for the Lily Whites.

Eriksen played a pivotal role in Tottenham's run to the Champions League final during the 2018/19 season.

Eriksen back to North London?

A disgruntled Eriksen left Tottenham during the winter of the 2019/20 season for a £17.5 million transfer to Inter Milan. But now, the 30-year-old could see a reunion with his former Inter boss, Antonio Conte, back at Spurs.

Last season, the two won the Serie A together, Inter Milan's first title in more than a decade. This weekend, they meet on opposing Premier League sides, with Brentford playing host to Spurs.

Eriksen expects to decide his future at the end of this term, promising to speak with Brentford first about a potential move. He signed a 6-month contract that expires at the end of the season.

Eriksen also recently made a triumphant return to the Denmark national team, scoring a fine goal in Denmark's 3-nil-friendly victory over Serbia last March.
