Pulisic tests positive for Covid-19, out versus Arsenal

American footballing sensation Christian Pulisic has tested positive for Covid-19, according to the player’s Instagram.

“Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week,” shared Pulisic. “Thankfully, I am fully vaccinated and I have no symptoms so far. Can't wait to get back in action! Thank you for your support.”

The winger is set to miss this weekend’s Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Pulisic opened up his this season’s goal-scoring account with Chelsea in last weekend’s Premier League opener.

“Christian has unfortunately had a positive test and needs to follow the protocols,” admitted Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

“He’s not been training and is not available for the game.

“Hakim and N’Golo both trained yesterday (Thursday) so we need to have a more physically intense session tomorrow (Saturday) and decide tomorrow. Right now, it seems very positive that both can be in the squad for Sunday.”

New Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku is also expected to play against the Gunners. The Belgian re-signed for Chelsea for €115m after leaving Stamford Bridge for Everton a decade ago.
