Shakira’s ex Gerard Pique has gone “Instagram official” with girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, the woman he had an alleged affair.
The former Barcelona player posted a selfie of the new couple on his Instagram account. The photo instantly became one of his most liked, with 3 million favorites and counting.
The two met through Pique’s former Barca teammate Riqui Puig, who used to take Pique out to bars with him around Barcelona.
Puig’s comment “a letter out of the box” on the published photo drew immediate disdain from Barcelona and Shakira fans alike, the former who was already unimpressed with his move to the LA Galaxy. “Shut up” and “With that face you shouldn’t have an opinion” were some of the anti-Puiq responses.
Shakira takes revenge after split
Last June, the pop star filed for divorce from the cheating Pique after she caught him having an affair with 23-year-old Clara Chia. Chia is 12 years younger than Pique and 18 years younger than Shakira.
The Colombian singer went through a grueling recovery after the 11-year relationship, “the darkest hours of my life,” she called it.
Coincidentally, Barcelona considered launching Shakira as their shirt sponsor last October, as the club did with Drake.
But Shakira directly took revenge on the man she once called the “best center back in the world.” The artist launched a new single entitled “BZRP Music Sessions Vol 53” which disses her former man.
“I’m worth two 22-year-old,” she sings. “You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio,” she sings.
The song garnered over 60 million views (now 208 million on YouTube) in a few days and gave the singer her first UK Top 40 hit in nine years.
She celebrated the release with a listening party at her Barcelona house, inviting former Barca star Patrick Kliuvert and his wife to the event.
Pique’s risible response to Shakira’s hit track was to announce Casio as his 7-a-side Kings League’s new sponsor.
The Spaniard’s latest social media post makes it pretty clear that he wants to make the breakup with Shakira a thing of the past. Let’s see who makes the next diss.
