Nike suit up Mbappe with new "France" boots for remainder of World Cup

Kylian Mbappe will wear custom boots for the team's Round 16 clash against Poland.

The Golden Boot contender has already scored three goals in France's first two World Cup matches in the group stage.

This is not the first time Mbappé has received special edition boots at the World Cup. Nike made him a pair of Mercurial Superfly from the Rising Fire pack, which features two stars on the sock with the player's last name printed on the heel.

Mbappe scored a goal in the final match against Croatia in Nike x Off-White boots by the late Virgil Abloh. We all know Mbappe has a unique fashion sense.

For this World Cup, Nike served the French striker personalized Mercurial “France” edition boots for play in the round of 16 onward.

Mbappe promoted the boots on his Instagram account with the caption, “New Merc kind of day for me, Go Blues!”

The new cleat is built on the familiar 2022 World Cup Nike Mercurial Superfly boots featuring a dominant metallic copper. The French flag colors sit on the sole plate of the cleat, which fans expect to see flashing in blue, white, and red as Mbappe speeds through defenses.

Kylian Mbappe could easily win the World and Golden Boot in these cleats. Mbappe follows Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who've also been wearing bespoke boots for World Cup Qatar.
