It looks like Mason Greenwood's Instagram antics failed to play out. He had added Nike to his profile, only for the brand to drop him as a sponsored athlete officially.

“Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete,” a Nike representative told The Mirror.

The dismissal is, of course, is unsurprising given that Nike were merely reiterating their stance from January last year when the player was facing rape charges.

Greenwood still thought he might get a second chance with the iconic brand, given the dropped charges against the Manchester United player.

FIFA and Football manager also parted ways with the 21-year-old following the incident and have further corroborated their stance by deleting the player from the game's databases.

The club, however, is still ruminating over Greenwood's future — his $92,000-a-week contract expires in June 2025.

“Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete,” said United.
