Neymar’s future in doubt as he misses PSG pre-season training

Neymar back soon to Barcelona?

Neymar was noticeably absent from the start of Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season training today.

The 27-year-old Brazilian could’ve been seen in the stands yesterday, watching his national side win the Copa America by defeating Peru 3-1 at the Maracana. Neymar ruptured a ligament in his right ankle last June in a friendly against Qatar.

The Brazilian star has been rumored to make a return to Barcelona, where he played for four years before becoming the most expensive transfer ever as a €222 million signing with PSG.

Oddly enough, Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu said last week that he thought Dembélé was better than Neymar. Bartomeu also seemed most interested in signing French forward Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid.

Still, no one will be surprised should Camp Nou end up with all three.

How will PSG penalize Neymar?

Neymar’s father declared that PSG knew his son planned on returning to Paris for training July 15 due to commitments with Brazil. The club has denied the fact, issuing a statement about the situation.

“On Monday 8 July Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was due to return to pre-season activities with the Paris Saint-Germain senior squad.

Paris Saint-Germain notes that Neymar Jr was not in attendance at the agreed time and place.

This was without the club’s prior authorization.”

Along with nagging injuries, Neymar has also been involved in legal trouble over the summer. A woman accused him of rape in a Paris hotel just last month.

Neymar has three years left on his PSG contract, with each day looking like his last. Should he move to Barca the Catalan side could feature Griezmann, Messi, and Neymar.

Barca fans will be dreaming for such a lineup.
