Manchester United’s Antony in spotlight over domestic violence charges

Manchester United's Antony has been accused of domestic violence by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin, who has formally complained to law enforcement authorities.

The 22-year-old Brazilian woman told Sao Paulo police that the Red Devil winger imposed domestic violence, bodily injury, and threat on her during separate incidents.

The woman reports multiple instances of Antony's abuse

The first incident occurred on July 2022 in a Sao Paulo nightclub, followed by a second incident in January 2023 in which the woman claimed she needed surgery.

The woman submitted photos of scrapes and bruises and threatening messages committed by Antony, details the report.

Two other domestic abuse incidents happened in England while Antony played with Premier League giants Manchester United.

On the day Antony played in Manchester United's 1-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League, May 20, the woman also alleged that he verbally threatened her life during a phone call.

In 2022, Cavallin told her Instagram followers that she endured a miscarriage when she and Antony expected their first child.

The Antony accusations follow a line of sexual assault cases committed by notable footballers in the past year, including United's Mason Greenwood

Antony has yet to respond to the allegations.
