Real Madrid's new 2023/24 home kit has leaked online, and we've got the scoop.
The new design is a contemporary interpretation of the traditional white outfit. Most notably, the warm shade of yellow-gold known as “Preloved Yellow” aligns the shoulders of the kit.
The mustard-gold trim also syncs onto the round collar (previously believed to be a V-neck), which merges with white and dark blue. The latter hue has been identified as “Legend Ink.”
The same tricolor pattern appears on the cuffs and runs down the side of the shirt.
Los Blancos legend Toni Kroos will be ecstatic after Adidas ditched the collar from this season: “We have a collar on the shirt again this season. A polo is not a football shirt! To all the designers: this is really shit. Kits with a collar are not good, they are uncomfortable and also ugly.”
The 2023/24 golden home kit matches the colors of the shield
The new Adidas logo is on the right chest of the kit and features three stripes without any text. The club shield is on the left chest, above the Emirates Fly Better sponsor which is centered.
Above all, this marks the first time in years that the kit's colors match those of the Real Madrid crest. Previously, the golden three stripes appeared on the iconic Real Madrid's 2011/12 kit.
Of course, that was also the year Ronaldo scored the “calma calma” goal in El Clasico, as Real's Mourinho-led squad reinserted their La Liga dominance.
Expect Real Madrid's new 2023/24 golden home kit to be available at the online shop in early June.
Adidas' kit design is on fire lately, especially with their release of the new Wales-Bonner-designed Jamaica kits. Their sportswear competitor, Nike, who took criticism for their poor World Cup kits, could learn a thing or two.
However, the Swoosh brand may have redeemed itself with the beautiful kit for the Swedish outfit 2023 AIK.
Real Madrid has a crucial schedule with three vital games, starting with their upcoming match against Espanyol this weekend.
The team will then face Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 before the highly anticipated El Clasico against Barcelona at Camp Nou on Sunday, March 19th.
Barcelona will be wearing the one-off Rosalia-inspired kit for the match.
