After adding his second FA Cup trophy on Saturday, Pep Guardiola is on the brink of yet another. And this is for the big one: the UEFA Champions League. Update: he's done it! Guardiola has successfully led his team to clinch the coveted 2022/23 UEFA Champions League trophy.
Pep secured his third Champions League title and a second continental treble of league, league cup, and Champions League.
Let's look at how many trophies the Spaniard has won to date.
How many trophies has coach Pep Guardiola won?
Pep Guardiola has won a remarkable 34 trophies during his 14 years as a professional manager. During the 22/23 season, he became the quickest manager to 100 Champions League victories.
He's also coached the fourth-most games of any UCL manager, trailing only Arsene Wenger (178 games), Sir Alex Ferguson (190), and Carlo Ancelotti (191 games).
The Spanish boss, who preaches a possession-based style of play, is undoubtedly one of the best of all.
He's won 11 domestic league titles, 15 domestic cups, 2 Champions League, 4 UEFA Super Cups, and 3 FIFA Club World Cups.
Pep Guardiola at Barcelona — 14 major trophies
Guardiola enjoyed an incredibly successful stint with Barcelona's first team.
He led the Blaugrana to 3 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey titles, 3 Supercopa de España titles, 2 UEFA Champions League titles, 2 UEFA Super Cup titles, and 2 FIFA Club World Cup titles. His 14 trophies with Barcelona are more than any other teams he's coached.
Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich — 7 major trophies
Guardiola continued his trophy-laden career with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, where he won 3 Bundesliga titles, 2 DFB-Pokal titles, 1 UEFA Super Cup title, and 1 FIFA Club World Cup title, making it a total of 7 major trophies.
The Champions League trophy, however, eluded him in Bayern.
Pep Guardiola at Manchester City — 13 major trophies
After going trophyless in his first season with Manchester City, Guardiola has etched his name into one of all-time's best Premier League bosses.
He's won the Premier League title 5 times, making it three consecutive this season. He's also won the FA Cup twice, the EFL Cup 4 times, and won the 2022/23 Champions League after a frustrating runner-up in the Champions League during the 21/22 season. With a one-nil win over Europa League winner Sevilla in August 2023, Pep became the first coach to win the UEFA Super Cup with three different teams.
There are only a handful of coaches to achieve the treble. But Pep Guardiola is the first-ever coach to establish two with the latest Champions League triumph for City over Inter Milan this weekend.
Do you think Pep is the best manager of all time?
