As Barcelona make their final push to sign 19-year-old Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt, one man is stepping up efforts to convince the starlet otherwise.
That's right — Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo tried to recruit the young captain to Turin following Portugal's one nil victory over Holland in the inaugural UEFA Nations League final.
Said de Ligt: “Cristiano asked me to join Juventus. I was slightly shocked by the question, this is why I was laughing. I hadn't understood what he said originally. I was still thinking about the loss.”

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing De Ligt.
The teen is one of the most exciting prospects in world football with 17 caps and two goals for the Netherlands. The center-back also led his club side Ajax to a league and cup double before bowing out of the Champions League semi-finals against Tottenham.
