The Argentina away kit has arrived, and it’s a beauty.
The violet colorway is a first for the country that typically sticks to the traditional albiceleste look, as they did on this year’s home kit.
The grape-colored kit — actually a mix of purple hues “Legacy Indigo/Purple Rush” — takes inspiration from gender equality, celebrating the values of diversity and inclusion. A lighter purple highlights the Adidas stripes over the shoulders.
The chest-positioned AFA badge and Adidas logo plus the Sol de Mayo, the national emblem of Argentina, display in silver colors. The latter appears on the back of the collar to evoke the flag, just like the home kit.
What also stands out is the shirt’s use of the fiery and radiant rays from the Sun of May that flank the bottom of the kit in a myriad of dark and light purple hues.
Purple shorts and socks complete the look.
Argentina makes a powerful statement with its newest away kits
“The new away shirt of the national side transmits a powerful message of gender equality, aligned with the values of diversity and inclusion that our brand promotes,” said Pablo Lamo, general manager of Adidas Argentina.
“Through sport we have the opportunity to change people’s lives, and soccer is one of the ideal tools to transform reality.”
