Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi is under investigation for rape charges.
Le Parisien reports that the 24-year-old was involved in an incident on February 25 at his home in the Boulogne area of Paris.
He allegedly invited a 23-year-old woman he met on Instagram over to his home while his wife and kids were away on holiday.
Hakimi's wife Hiba Abouk is a Spanish actress. The couple appeared on the front of Vogue Arabia last October.
The alleged rape victim kicked Hakimi to escape
The young woman filed the report to the Police, making “a statement of rape.”
She said the football star kissed her breasts and forced penetration without her consent. The woman subsequently kicked Hakimi and freed herself from his grasp before contacting a friend to pick her up.
French prosecutors took up the case despite the woman's refusal to file a complaint. The authorities look to gather preliminary evidence and determine whether any criminal activity occurred.
Meanwhile, Hakimi's lawyer denies rape charges against the player: “The charges are false. He is quiet and at the disposal of justice. The club supports the player who has vehemently denied the charges and trusts justice.”
Hakimi is yet another football star to be added to the list of players charged with sexual assault. That list includes most recently, Dani Alves along with Benjamin Mendy, Ronaldinho, Robinho, and Mason Greenwood.
The rape accusations over Arsenal star Thomas Partey are still pending.
Hakimi has been out of PSG's last two matches with a hamstring injury. He joined teammates Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe at The Best FIFA Football Awards in Paris tonight.
